Setting Up The SUV Tent. Set Up The Tent. Set up is similar to any tent. Lay out the tent, assemble the fiberglass poles and thread through the pole sleeves. Place the poles onto the pole pins to stand the tent up and attach the pole clips. Attach Tent To Vehicle. Back up the vehicle until its bumper touches the lower sleeve. Place the upper sleeve over the raised rear hatch door. Simply buckle the upper sleeve’s (2) top straps around the roof rack’s rear cross bar. Adjust the location of the rear cross bar if necessary. If the vehicle is without a cross bar, clip the extension strap’s J-hooks to the vehicle’s windshield wipers. Attach The Lower Sleeve. Lower the rear hatch door just enough to buckle the lower sleeve’s black strap over it. Attach the lower sleeve’s orange straps to the inside of the vehicle’s cargo area. Attach The Upper Sleeve. Attach the A and B straps to the vehicle’s wheel well and tighten. Run the C strap under the vehicle’s wheel well and clip it to the D strap and tighten. Repeat these steps to the straps on the other side of the vehicle. Stake The SUV Tent And Add The Rainfly. Stake the corners, sides, and guy lines of the tent. Add the rainfly to the tent if needed. When you take down the tent, it will fold up with the rainfly, disassembled poles, stakes, etc. And fit back into the carry bag.
