Sierra Designs Polaris 3- 4 Season Convertible 2p Tent Mint Unused
Every now and then a great tent is discontinued for reasons unknown. This is a rare convertible tent from a famous tent maker. Dimensions of body are abt 94×58 so it’s comfortable for tall campers. This tent has never been used and that’s obvious for the condition it’s in- a mint gem. No rip, tears , stains or defects of any kind. The tent body is free standing and is supported by 4 shockcorded al poles. The pole clips are further strengthened with elastic cords at all crossover points. The fly clips onto the tent body at strategic places to give even more stability and strength.
For milder weather one of the poles can be left a t home for weight reduction. Single entry door has zip up storm closure window over the mesh netting as does rear window , and the ceiling has closable storm shield venting. The ceiling storm closing can be removed entirely for weight reduction in warm weather. The ten fly has been expertly seam sealed and will keep the water out as good as the tape- sealed tents. Interior pockets and loops for clothesline or gear loft not incl. Comes with everything-stuff sacks , stakes, guyout lines, and directions.
Total weight of entire outfit , including all stakes, sacks, directions etc is 7lb 6 oz. I bought two of these tents a few years ago and never used this one as the other is still in great serviceable condition.
It has only been taken out of the bag to seam seal it and erect on the lawn to take the pics.

Vintage Sierra Designs Starlite Two Person Backpacking Tent
I have had this tent since it was new and have taken very good care of it. There are no rips tears or repairs, all the stakes are there, the netting is perfect, the zipper works, it is water proof both top and bottom and the bungee cord in the folding poles works.
The original instructions (crude as they were in the day) are there, as well as a stuff sack and a bag for the poles and stakes. The inside dimensions are as follows. Head and foot ends=3′ 4. The first photo is not this tent but is included to show the tent’s ability to be used even in the snow; but three seasons is a better use given that one needs to get stakes into the ground. However, i have woken up to the scene in the first photo on several fall mornings.
This fine old tent needs to be out of my closet and back involved in adventures.

For sale: vintage sierra designs bivy tent. This is a rather unique item: it employs a single fiberglass pole to form an awning over the user’s head during rain/snow storms. When you do not want to use the awning, you fold it back into its storage sleeve, take apart the pole and slip it into its storage sleeve, and you have a typical bivi sack. I used this but a single time, as i have continued to use my old sack for most alpine trips. The sac is in mint condition– no stains, holes, ragged places or unsightly blemishes. It is not new, but it has spend most of its life in a dark and dry closet. Note, as well, that the sac also features a mosquito net for the face (it can be detached too).
