I believe this is the original version of this tent. I’ve had it for many years now. Over time there have been little updates here and there but this is also the lightest version with everything including the manual weighing in at 8# 11oz. You can unzip the rear breather port hole to access gear outside the tent body from inside. Tent is in very good condition with no rips/holes/stains. Includes everything original tent body, poles, fly, stakes(13), guylines, and stuff sacks plus aftermarket tent version specific mountain hardwear ground cloth. Shock cords in good, strong condition. Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 Mountaineering Hiking Backpacking Tent. This is an older version of the Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 tent. I’ve used this a few times on climbs of Rainier and in the North Cascades. It’s been a great tent, but I’ve since switched to a lighter, single wall tent. In the pictures, it’s the tent with the orange and gray panels on the fly. It’s also in the back of each photo. The tent is used and will likely need the seams resealed at some point. The plastic window in the fly also needs to be reattached along with a couple of hook anchors. The tent and fly are in good shape otherwise. Like new Trango 2 tent. Bought new in March 2019. One repair: about 2 of bug netting separated from the zipper seam when it got caught in the zipper. I repaired this by hand sewing. Please see the last two pictures. It is barely noticeable and works perfectly. Otherwise the tent is like new. Only pitched twice on snow, once on a tile floor, never on rock. I had the grandest of plans to take this high on the hill. Ended up being setup twice in my backyard with no real trail time ever. I set it up today for pics and was happy to see it again. This tent is one of the best single wall shelters ever made. I did notice under close inspection the small front mesh portion of the door has some catches in the material. Otherwise clean floor, nice poles. Tent bag and tent pole bag included. I will also throw in enough black aluminum y stakes to guy it out properly. A very well preserved specimen. Vintage Mountain Hardware has the reputation that beats your other tents. A few minor/normal stains but overall zippers work well. No rips/tears and smells fine. The shockcord is still very strong. Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 Assault. 2-person, 4-season mountaineering tent. Used a few times, always in the snow. Includes: tent, poles, stakes, fly, and stuff sacks. This is the ultimate alpine shelter — every aspect has been well thought out by people who understand the realities of life in the mountains. The main performance of the tent — what really counts — is excellent, but it’s the details that make you sure you chose correctly. The tension shelves are the smartest bit of tent-design i’ve see, and the nine (yeah, nine) mesh pockets and two shelves keep everything but sleeping bags off the floor, making the most of the’ledge hugging’ floorspace. The internal guylines can be re-rigged as handy clothes lines. In deep snow dig out beneath the spacious vestibule and you’ll have a luxurious cloak-room that you can almost stand up in, holds all your gear and traps the cold air. Decide how many layers you need by peeking out the window, about which i was first skeptical but now i believe! The rear vent and hatch, mesh door and double zipped vestibule door allow for many venting options… Bottom line: strongest tent for the weight, fits great in tight spaces, snow ledges, etc. All the features you could hope for and more, good lookin’, easy to set up.
