The Meramac series tents are all free standing 2-pole designs with shock corded fiberglass with aluminum ferrules. The ferrules are the “connectors” that hold the poles together and we use aluminum, rather than steel, because aluminum can never rust. Used but still in really good shape. REI got this tent right. Big diameter poles, much thicker material, bigger doors, and more pockets. Fixed all the issues withe the kingdom tents. Used one time on a 3 day weekend. I love this that I wanna get the 6 man tent. Plenty of room for 4 man tent. But I like using cots and this only allows 2 cots with little room left. There is one small rip at top of tent. See picture with dime as reference. Being so mall it hasn’t been an issue. This is a heavy tent at 22lbs.
