Rare VINTAGE 1979 Moss Starlet 2 person 3 season tent Made In Camden Maine USA. An old school work of art. Made in the USA in 1979, this tent has seen minimal though memorable use, sheltering a young and impetuous cyclist on the classic SF to LA Adventure cycling route encountering throngs of deadheads at Big Sur dining at the pancake breakfast and packs of Boy Scouts at Pismo Beach watching the lion seals barking on the beach, not to mention peddling around the Florida Keys and happening in on the opening of a quaint little joint called Cheeseburger in Paradise (yeah that one). But all nostalgia aside, this tent has been lovingly stored and kept mostly free from harm save some fading and a couple of minor mildew spots that you won’t even notice. It is in great condition and remains a lightweight workhorse that hasn’t aged out yet, owing to it’s superior and lasting construction. Great size at approx 84 x 99 x 62 tall. Has 2 large doors that have zip down screens. Has 1/2 of the roof screened for star gazing when the fly is off. Also has 2 zip vents in the top of the tent. It is a free standing sleeve and clip design and super easy to erect. I did it by myself. Comes with 4 great shock corded poles for the tent and 1 for the fly vestibule. Has a pole sleeve for repairs if needed and 10 heavy duty stakes. Has a gear attic that clips on inside and also has its ground cover. The tent itself is in very good used condition and quite clean although has been used. The rain fly is also nice however one of the plastic windows has become a bit brittle and has some cracks in it while the other one is a bit foggy but not cracked or brittle. The large fly clips on easily at the corners and has large vestibules at both of the large doors, while the windows illuminate these vestibules. Comes with the original large stuff carrying case as well as the bags for stakes and poles. Quite an incredible 4 person tent. Weighs approx 18 pounds and the sack measures approx 27 x 11 x 10.
