The Tarptent Stratospire 2 is one of the lightest (if not THE lightest) double-wall, 2-person tents on the marked. Info from the Tarptent website. Fast setup 2 minutes from sack to pitched. Dual trekking pole support; no poles in your living space. Handle side up pole setup with optional adapters. Double wall (mesh or solid wall), dual entry, and dual vestibules. Substantially more usable floor space and volume than any comparably poled shelter on the market. Separate living compartment clips up to fly and is completely removable. Separate living compartment sets up independently. Interior never gets wet during entry, exit, setup or takedown in storms. Roomy with very large vestibules for excellent gear storage space. Taut pitch with PitchLoc foldable corners. Reflective spectra cord guylines secured by integrated line tighteners. This tent has only been used on a single, 5-day trek. Other than that, it is in like-new condition. This superlight (3lb 7oz trail weight) sweetheart keeps your pack weight low, packs down to next to nothing, breathes deeper than your yogi, and still stands up to years of camping adventures. Light in your pack but tough on the ground, the 30D nylon ripstop bathtub floor rises up to protect your slumbering body from splashes and spits when it starts to rain. Water stays on the outside due to a combination of DWR and 3000mm Durashield PU coatings. An opaque blend of mesh and ripstop nylon turns the tent body into a safe place to towel off after a pre-dawn skinny dip in the lake. Vents on all four sides let the crosswinds blow to keep the air inside fresh. The nylon ripstop rainfly uses a 1200mm Durshield PU and silicone coating to keep the water from creeping inside and tanking your dreams of feather beds and hot (indoor) showers. Unique to the Hubba Hubba is the rainfly-vestibule interaction. Instead of center zips on the fly, the zipper lies along the side, tucked beneath a rain gutter. When you open the tent fly, a flap of fly fabric falls away, giving you a protected entrance to your tent. The rain gutter prevents precipitation from sneaking inside. At both vestibules, you can roll up the edges on the fly and savor an evening breeze free of mosquitoes. Even if you’re taking the entire package for a trip on the Wonderland Trail, the Hubba Hubba only puts a measly three-and-a-half pounds in your pack.
