1-Man Improved Combat Shelter. This is a genuine US military surplus 1-Man Improved Combat Shelter (ICS) in ACU Digital camouflage, made by ORC Industries. This is the current generation 1-man tent used by the US Army. This tent is also blackout capable and made from a flame resistant material. The ICS also features rubberized waterproof tub floor for added protection from the ground and the elements. The rain fly forms a vestibule on one side for storing your pack, and is open on the other side for easy and quick entering and exiting from the tent. This tent measures approximately 96″ (L) x 40″ (W) x 32 (H) at the peak. The complete ICS tent consists of the tent, detachable rain fly, poles, 5 stakes, and carrying bag, and weighs approximately 6.5 pounds. Use the quality guide below to determine which quality tent is right for you and your budget. New – These tents are brand new, unissued items that still have the tags on them. Like New – These tents appear to be almost new, maybe only being used to set up for training purposes. They don’t appear to have been used in the field and are free of any imperfections. Very Good – These tents will show some minor use (mainly dirt or small stains) and may have a tiny pin hole or two. They are free of any defects and fully functional. Good – These tents will show more moderate signs of use and may contain small pinholes, but are still fully functional and free of any defects. The rubberized material on the rain fly and tent floor have have small sections where the rubberized material has started to pull away from the tent fabric. These tents will show heavier signs of use and may contain small holes, but are still fully functional and do not have any broken pieces. Swedish Army Forest Patrol Tent – 8 Person – Unissued. 8 Person if you are friendly, but easily a spacious 5 person with room for a wood stove. What comes with the tent! Outer Canvas – Heavy duty ripstop canvas with stove jack and multiple guy loops. Inner Tent – cotton lining not erected in picture, provides a thermal air gap for the tent for use in colder climates. But does not have to be used. The tent doesn’t come with poles as it is designed for use in the forest and using branches etc for centre and exterior poles. This tent is designed to be used by a Swedish patrol in the woodland that covers Sweden, they don’t actually come with poles or pegs with the idea to use what’s available in the woodland to use as poles. They weight is approx 8kg and are so easy to erect and takedown. The doorway on the tent is made by canvas expanders allowing you to use brush handles or similar to prop the door open. The closure is via a hook and loop as pictured. The canvas has guy loops (not all used in pictures) which would allow the tent to be pulled at approximately 60cm above the ground to provide more open space and a tighter canvas. The inner tent is cotton and comes with a reinforced top hat and ties to attach to the outer canvas. The height is approx 1.5m and diameter is 4m approx. Door way opening should be around 1.1m high and the parameter approx 0.6m. The tent can be hung from a tree with the top hat loop as pictured but ensure loop can take the tension placed upon it from the guy ropes. The reinforced stove jack is permanently open and the vents at the peak of the tent can be opened via reinforced canvas that buttons in place or closed via a cord puller on the inside.
