A De Waard Zilvermeeuw twin-mast four berth Dutch tent, as usual made in the famous Ten Cate tent cloth. Being the Type 2 this has a canopy as part of the tent structure with two additional guy ropes to hold it taught. The Type 2 also has the sides made in rather attractive segments of canvas, in a similar manner to the Lepelaar and the later Albatrosses. The inner tent is a lovely feature. It looks very cosy and can really extend the camping season. It is important to appreciate that these are ordered new at the same time as the main tent. Special fittings are sewn in during manufacture. For this reason we do not like to separate them, even though some people have succeeded in installing their own makeshift fixings. Tent Size – 3 metres wide by 3.8 metres deep including sleeping area 2.3 metres deep. 2.2 metres high at the masts and 1.8 metres at the entrance. Packed 90 x 30cm sausage 22kg. Poles and pegs approx. There is no damage to this tent and no repairs have been carried out. The canvas is firm and of good colour with only a few light marks of sap or bird droppings. A De Waard Albatros with two side wings and the square awning. Very clean indeed with only a few odd spots. A little mud that needs a good rain storm! One little sewn on patch on the front canopy. If you are unable to watch the video please message me for a link. Otherwise no damage except for a short piece of stitching that has pulled away at the top of the central zip. I erected the tent on a friends farm and had no tools with me, otherwise I would have sewn it shut. If it was my tent I would probably leave it. All zips and lines good. Ventilation mesh all intact. Size – 4 metres wide by 4.2 metres deep including sleeping areas 2.2 metres deep (rounded back). 2.5 metres high at the mast and 1.8 metres at the entrance. Packed roughly 35 x 100 cm 28kg + 85 x 25cm 13kg. There are the usual half-moon ventilation panels at the rear of the tent, with zipped covers. Windows in the front doors with mosquito netting above and clip down covers. The following items are included. A De Waard awning. 2 zip-on side wings. Interior curtain and bedroom divider. Vintage 70′s Hillary canvas cabin tent. Measures 9′ x 10′, x 7′ at its peak. Amazing shape and is very easy to set up. This tent is very clean and gently used. It has two tiny patches and some of the floor loops have been restitched, but nothing really major (not an issue but I thought I would disclose). Zippers are smooth and glide easily. This Hillary tent model has 2 screened windows and screen door. The screens have no issues. Patched on the interior of the tent. Dated in the 70s. For the age, it’s incredible shape.
