How can a heavy duty tent be also lightweight? The tent is made of heavy duty, 190 denier polyester with factory sealed seams making it a sturdy tent, however the material itself is lightweight to make it easy to transport and set up. Is this tent really waterproof? The polyester fabric and factory sealed seams are treated with waterproofing however, as with all tents we recommend that you treat it regularly with silicone waterproofing and seam sealer for best results. Also, when pitching this tent make sure the sides are straight and tight so rain can roll off. Otherwise pooling and leakage can occur. Is there a rainfly available for the door? No and this is one of the few negatives of this tent. In heavy winds and rain water can come in through the doorway. To prevent this we recommend treating the door area with extra waterproofing and seam sealer, and also keeping a tarp or plastic sheet handy for extra protection in case of heavy rain. How roomy is this tent? This tent is very roomy, with 5′ of space on every side from the center pole to the walls. Again, make sure you pitch the tent tightly for maximum wall space. What size air mattress or cots can be used with this tent? There is a center pole so you cannot use an air mattress in the middle, however twin mattresses on either side work well. Full mattresses also work and we’ve heard of people using queen, though it’s squished. Keep in mind the 5′ diameter between the center pole and the sides of the tent when choosing air mattresses (see our other listings for available air mattresses). Camping tent Teepee Style.
