FS Vintage The North Face, North Star Geodesic Dome

Introduced in 1979, The North Star is a 4 season, double wall dome designed with the features and strength needed for expedition and base camp in extreme conditions. It will accommodate 4 adults closely, 6 in an absolute pinch….. In addition to a zippered main entrance, the tent has double snow tunnels backed with bug netting that provide cross ventilation in the warmer months. The North Star is also a very pleasant tent for family camping. Six equal length 183 shock corded Easton aluminum poles and 2 short aluminum awning supports. 3, 10″ aluminum struts help to maintain the “dead air space (separation) between the rainfly and canopy. 1.9 ounce ripstop nylon canopy and full coverage rainfly. Polyurethane coated taffeta nylon floor, lower sidewalls, entrance panel and snow tunnels. 10 additional guy line pullouts on the rainfly for high wind and snow load conditions. Has 6 inside gear pockets. Tunnel design cook/disposal hole built into the floor. Seams on the floor and rainfly were not previously sealed. A blank slate for you to do the job. No old, flaking sealer to clean up. Approximate Weights: Poles 2lbs, 6oz – Main Body 7lbs, 8oz – Rain Fly 3lbs, 12oz. 58.25 sq feet of interior floor space. Condition: I have completed a thorough inspection throughout and assess the tent to be in very good used condition. The colors on the main canopy are bright with very little sun fading. The outer rainfly is a TNF replacement and is in near new condition. The poles are without splits or kinks and are not deformed beyond what is consistent with use and normal shaping to the dome curvature. Zippers run smoothly. A common issue in older tents is the deterioration of the polyurethane waterproof coating applied to the lower sidewalls, floor and rainfly. It is not sticky or peeling and continues to provide full waterproofing. There are no funky, old tent odors. Restoration: The interior floor and the pole sleeves needed some minor repair to bring the tent completely up to snuff: 1 The floor was cleaned and inspected – Several tiny cooking spark holes, scuffs and abrasions were repaired with either dabs of McNett Seam Grip Sealer/Adhesive or the Sealer and nylon taffeta fabric in combination. Usage stains are well set and only minor effort was made at removal. 2 Threading poles through tent sleeves in high winds or darkness isn’t ideal and is best done with 2 persons. Some fabric wear, nicks and several about 1/4″ – 3/4″ in length slits were solidly repaired with Seam Grip, light flat webbing and ripstop repair fabric on the inside and outside of the damage. Arguably strong as new and good to go. As TNF cautions, a small measure of care is needed when threading poles through the sleeves of any tent with light weight fabric. To avoid damage, flex the poles as they are being threaded through the pole sleeves. 3 On the main entrance netting, there were a few tiny pulls. Nothing much was needed but non-the-less they were reinforced with dabs of Seam Grip. Netting is in mint condition at the tunnel entrances. 4 I have freshly sealed the center , floor cross seam. Final 4 photo’s show typical wear and the repairs. Last picture is the interior floor. The tent is entirely ready for use. This North Face Ring Oval Intention Tent is in fine overall condition. It is complete (including all factory publications, extra stakes & line) and fully intact as from the factory; nothing is broken. It does need the floor and seams resealed on the tent and fly. The old bagged tent smell is present, but there is no mold, mildew or stains. Floor does have a few small stains and abrasions but no holes. It is 6′ x 9′ x 4.5′ tall at the peak. Vintage Classic Coleman Canvas Tent 10′ X 8′ Model 8481b830

Tent is old but overall in good condition. Floor looks great with no holes, walls look clean and new with the exception of a few pin holes here and there. The roof is stained and discolored. Mainly just dirt and pole residue and some cooper color stain from probably a waterproof treatment. Tent does not have any bad odors. I did not see any mildew, but there could be a few small spots on the roof. Stitching was little week where the four poles stretch the fabric, so i used some wax string to fortify it a bit. There is an un-patched hole where the T ridge pole come into the 2 small ridge line poles, it does not affect functionality because there is more canvas underneath it. When your inside the hole doesn’t show because of the extra fabric. Roof also has a few pin holes and a patched hole. Screens look great and have no holes. All the zippers work. Not sure if tent is waterproof, I would bet it would leak somewhere, lol. This would be an excellent vintage show tent for fair weather. Poles are all original, except for uprights, but as you can see it comes together nicely. Comes with stakes, but not the chairs. Vintage Canvas Tent Coleman American Heritage Camping 11 x 8 1970s Large Peaked

Vintage 70′s Coleman canvas tent. Measures 11′ x 8′, x 79 at its peak. I think it even has the original stakes. This tent looks very gently used. It has some dirt spots on the back wall and near the foot of the door, but nothing really major. Zippers are smooth and it’s very clean. This American Heritage tent model has 4 windows with screens, one being on the door. The screens have no issues. Dated in the 70s. For the age, it’s incredible shape. The only issue is two of the tent pole nipples are broken off which is very common for these tent poles. I use the thin L shaped stakes to replace the nipples and it works great.
