Black Diamond Firstlight 2P four-season/alpine tent plus ground cloth. This is a lightweight, quick setup, free-standing, water-resistant, four-season tent designed for climbers or winter campers, sometimes also used by lightweight backpackers. It’s officially a two-person tent, but might be a little tight with two average to large people. It features a single-walled NanoShield fabric construction that reduces the weight of the tent while compromising a bit on being absolutely waterproof. There is some debate online among users over just how much rain it can handle (it may not be completely impervious in a heavy downpour or a steady all-day rain, but it should be just fine in a brief and/or light sporadic rain). The fabric is advertised as breathable, but the tent as a whole may not be as breathable as a traditional 2-walled tent with a mesh roof separated by an air gap from a waterproof rain fly. These issues are secondary for a tent made for sub-freezing weather of course. Please read some reviews online if you are unfamiliar with this model. It is in good-as-new condition, always stored indoors loosely stuffed into an extra large stuff sack. My only issue was that it was a bit shorter than ideal for me. I’m 6′-0, and with a thick sleeping bag my head and feet touched the ends. I could mostly avoid touching the ends by sleeping diagonally but I eventually found a different tent that was a little longer. This tent was not seam-sealed or taped at the factory and I never bothered sealing it myself since I was only planning to use it in the snow. The original unopened tube of seam sealer is included.
