Legendary mountaineer Ed Viesturs teamed up with Mountain Hardwear to create the EV 2 Tent, which has become an staple for serious alpine adventurers looking for a shelter that offers the ideal balance of strength, weight, and size. While not as light as the almost unbelievably featherweight Direkt 2, the EV has a good bit more space, and still weighs just over 4.5lbs, no more than a standard 3-season double-walled backpacking tent. The EV, however, is a single-walled monster, designed to stand up to the worst snow, wind, and alpine storms Mother Nature dares to throw at you. It makes use of a three-pole Evolution Tension Arch design to ensure the ideal balance of strength and weight, and features an integrated vestibule that lets you keep your gear dry without cramping living space-every inch becomes precious when you’ve been trapped in a tent for six days. With the exception of the photos taken for demonstration purposes, this tent was never used in a backpacking trip. The DUOMID XL comes with the DUOMID XL inner net and the 59 pyramid tent pole.
